Communities across the country depend on the lasting durability of the wide range of KME apparatus. Driven by their legacy of leadership in manufacturing heavy-duty, specialized equipment, KME delivers comprehensive solutions to meet the unique demands of each fire department.

KME offers three custom chassis with more than 300 configurations, multiple interior, seating, storage and power train options, putting you in the driver’s seat in designing your truck.

Whichever cab you choose, you can have confidence that it is designed, manufactured and tested to perform under the most rigorous demands of your firefighters.

KME designs and manufactures thousands of innovative pumper body configurations in a variety of materials to satisfy the needs of your environment as well as your budget.

The KME Tanker/Water Tender line of apparatus offers design configurations to fit each customer’s specific needs ranging from the very simple water hauler with no pumper, to the full featured pumper-tanker with a full array of options. All KME tankers are built from the same base foundation with safety standard on all designs.

KME manufactures the broadest family of aerials in the fire service – All aerial bodies feature a 3/16” aluminum formed body that provides both the strength demanded of an aerial body and the flexibility of design. KME utilizes an underslung body-mounting system. This design distributes loads to the body mounts and frame rails allowing for them to be supported by the strongest portions of the vehicle, which yields extremely reliable body integrity.

KME is a true sole-source manufacturer, so customization is central in all we do. Rescue product design begins with an in-depth discussion with customers to understand intended use as well as how to make their apparatus safer, and more reliable.

KME knows that off-road is a specialized environment requiring specialized features. Features like heavy duty subframes to keep the body strong, flexible mounting systems to allow the body to move independently from the chassis or true pump-and-roll to allow a strong, steady fire attack while the truck moves at whatever speed the operator desires. KME has supplied apparatus to some of the most demanding wildland agencies and departments. More importantly, we’ve listened to them and learned from their experience.
